Once you start to help the less fortunate, you will get EXTRA STRENGTH to face your own problems. Start being thankful for WHATEVER your life is because you have a chance to MAKE IT BETTER.
I keep professing the importance of POSITIVITY as the FIRST STEP towards any type of success in life because of several reasons. Whenever your MIND is thinking negative, it is WEAK, and if your MIND is WEAK, you look at a SITUATION as a PROBLEM. If your MIND is a little in your control and not fully, you look at a situation as a CHALLENGE But only and only when your MIND is in a POSITIVE STATE OF THOUGHTS that you look at the situation and find an OPPORTUNITY in it. We all get depressed. We all get down. We all face despair and at times think that nothing is going to get better. And that is normal. What is not normal is that you start to believe that what you are thinking is CORRECT. That is abnormal. That is MAYOOSI. That is the beginning of your failure.
There is nothing wrong with looking at a situation and realizing that it is a very difficult one. As a matter of fact that is the first step towards preparing yourself for the solution. Only two things can happen when you realize that the situation on hand is a very difficult one to handle. The first choice is to CHANGE the situation by giving it your best. The second choice is to CHANGE YOURSELF for the better and move on. You can not choose the situations that you are faced with in life most of the time BUT you can choose the way you REACT to those situations, ALL THE TIME. The first thing you need to do whenever faced with a bad situation is to remain calm because your calmness will bring positivity in you and your positivity will lead you to optimism and your optimistic thoughts and hopes for a better solution will make you work harder and with resilience and consistency. Think what lesson you can learn right after you solved a bad situation. Instead of sitting down and thinking like a HERO because you have overcome a bad situation, sit and think what lesson you can keep in your mind from having faced it, and overcome it.
While at University in second Year of studies at Rutgers. I had no car and i used to take campus buses around to go to my classes. Rutgers was spread out on a few square miles. I had once missed the bus and my next class was about a mile away at Douglas Campus and i was At New Brunswick campus. I started to run and while doing so i was so frustrated and angry that i did not have a car and how i was SO BROKE while so many other students were SO RICH and did not have to put up with what i what i had to go through. All these thoughts were coming into my mind while i was running for my class. I had to pass through a very run down neighborhood full of drug dealers and gangsters. I saw a child about two years old sitting next to a woman lying on the sidewalk. She was obviously drugged up and was almost passed out. The boy was crying and screaming MAMA, MAMA… and the lady was oblivious to her child’s pleas. That very moment thoughts occurred in my mind….. How unfair life is to this child from such an early age. What type of a mindset this child will grow up with that he can be prepared to face the world. No one to care for him… And I stopped immediately. Sat down next to the child. Helpless i felt. Tried to play with him but to no avail. I was then told by one of the people to get up and immediately leave the area. That i did but since that time till now every time i feel low i remind myself that ALLAH has blessed me with such a fair chance at tackling my problems of life that i have nothing to complain about. Family support, education. exposure. Love. Respect. Faith. Strength. Optimism….. Be thankful for the way ALLAH has blessed you for every little thing. Start noticing the less fortunate people around you and realize that you can do something for yourself and OTHERS.
Once you start to help the less fortunate, you will get EXTRA STRENGTH to face your own problems. Start being thankful for WHATEVER your life is because you have a chance to MAKE IT BETTER. There are billions of people in this world, who, no matter what they do, no matter how many hours a day they work, no matter how honestly and positively the move ahead in life, they can barely make a living. Look at the people who have been dealt with hand worst off than yours, and be thankful to Allah. And the best way to be thankful is to make something out of your life and share the fruits of your success with the ones who have no chance of fighting life and winning. Help them win.
